Reconnaissons-le d'emblée : partir sur les terres verdoyantes de l'Ecosse en "voyages d'études" pour parler stratégie et green IT. C'est presque (trop?) idyllique comme tableau. Pourtant, le constructeur leader informatique a une bonne raison d'emmener journalistes et clients là-bas. Il a installé son unique usine d'assemblage de serveurs blade couvrant l'Europe à Erskine, une ville située près de Glascow.
En une matinée (le 4 juin), HP France a proposé à la délégation de journalistes français de faire le point sur son implication "IT verte" en quatre volets (infrastructures, innovations, serveurs, stockage), suivi d'une visite de l'usine d'assemblage.

Microsoft a précisé à notre rédaction américaine que la publication d'Internet Explorer 8 se fera avant la fin de l'année. Depuis mars dernier, une version bêta d'IE8 est disponible pour Windows XP et Vista. Une prochaine bêta du nouveau navigateur est attendue en août prochain.
